Links Module


Links Module

The links module is used to display external links, internal links, documents, folders, and can be used as a menu on a page.

Adding the Module:

  •  Roll cursor over Module to show drop-down menu
  • Select Links
  • Title Module
  • Select Pane
  • Add Module

Configure the Module:

  • Click on the ‘Settings’ icon.
  • Click on the ‘Links Settings’ tab

Notice the Different Options available from the ‘Module Mode’:

  • Link – Select ‘Link’ if you plan on linking to outside URL’s, pages on your website, or documents
  • Menu – Select ‘Menu’ if you plan on using the Links module as a menu for your ‘Parent’ page for the ‘Child’ pages
  • Folder – Select ‘Folder’ if you have folder set up for all users to view all documents within the folder
  • Friends – This is unavailable at this time

Select Link

  • Click ‘Update’
  • The user is now ready to add links, click ‘Add Link’

 Creating an External Resource Link:

  • Select ‘URL’ (links to an external resource)
  • Title the link, example shows ‘Funbrain’
  • Add the URL in the ‘Link’ area
  • Optional:  Check Track Number of Times Link is Clicked
  • Optional:  Check Open Link in New Browser Window
  • Optional:  Add Description
  • *Add View Order once the user has more than one link
  •  Click ‘Update’


Creating a Internal Website Link:

  • Click ‘Page’
  • Title the Link, example shows ‘Infinite Campus’
  • Select a Web Page From Your Site from the drop-down menu
  • Optional:  Check Track Number of Times Link is Clicked
  • Optional:  Check Open Link in New Browser Window
  • Optional:  Add Description
  • *Add View Order once the user has more than one link
  • ‘Update’ 

Creating a Document Link:

  • Click ‘File’
  • Find your File under ‘File Location’
  • Click to Upload New File (rec. to convert to PDF)
  • Browse Computer and Choose the file
  • Click ‘Upload’
  • Optional:  Check Track Number of Times Link is Clicked
  • Optional:  Check Open Link in New Browser Window
  • Optional:  Add Description
  • Add View Order once the user has more than one link
  • Update

Re-Configure the Module for a Menu:

  • Click on the ‘Settings’ icon.
  • Click on the ‘Links Settings’ tab
  • Select ‘Menu’
  • From drop-down behind ‘Menu’ select the ‘Parent Page’ the menu should pull the ‘Child Pages’ from
  • Click ‘Update’

Re-Configure the Module for a Folder:

  • Click on the ‘Settings’ icon.
  • Click on the ‘Links Settings’ tab
  • Select ‘Folder’ (everything in this folder will be viewable by the public)
  • From drop-down behind ‘Folder’ select the folder for display
  • Click ‘Update’
